Nursery have had lots of fun making pancakes today. We talked about why people make pancakes and read the story ‘Pancakes, Pancakes’ by Eric Carle.
In small groups the children went to the staff room kitchen to make pancakes and took turns to weigh the flour and mix the batter. They watched as we cooked and flipped the pancakes, shouting “Whoopah!” as we tossed them in the frying pan.
The children enjoyed choosing a topping and eating the pancakes!
Back in Nursery we had a go at writing instructions for making pancakes and even made some play dough pancakes to practise flipping them in a pan.
