School Fayre

HeadteacherComments Off on School Fayre

We have our annual Christmas fayre today and many thanks to the parents who are attending and supporting the school. This is always a popular event as the children are all excited for Christmas and the visit of Father Christmas.

I hope you enjoy yourselves at the fayre and you can accumulate presents for everyone with some of the items the children have made.

New appointments

Mrs Tilbury will be leaving us at Christmas to start her maternity leave. We all hope that she has a happy healthy baby and I will keep everyone informed of events as we find out. We have appointed Mr O’Toole to work with year 3 after Christmas and he will be in school the week commencing the 17th December to meet and get to know the children with Mrs Tilbury present.

Please feel free after school to come into year 3 and meet your child’s new teacher during this week.

We have also appointed another teacher for Nursery, Mr Koralambe. I am certain he will fit into our school and I am sure the children will enjoy him teaching them.

Christmas Nativity

It always feels like Christmas is close when our KS1 children produce the school Nativity Play. The play will take place at 9.30am on Wednesday 12th December and 6pm on Thursday 13th December. Tickets are on sale from the office and the cost is £1.00 per ticket. It would be great to see everyone supporting the children!

Early Years Nativity

Reception, Nursery and our 2 Year provision are also performing their Nativity Play on Wednesday 12th December.  This will start at 10.30am and we hope to see you there supporting the children.

A reminder to all our parents to sign up for the eduly app where all parents can receive direct information about their child’s progress. If you haven’t downloaded the app please do so with the school code to log on being 97755173.

Christmas Jumper Day

We are having a Christmas Jumper Day next Friday 14th December. The children can come to school in their Christmas jumpers and enjoy the day. No monies are requested, just that the children have a great time and enjoy themselves.

Missing Scooter

An orange scooter went missing from the school playground last week and it may well be that this has been taken accidentally. If your child has this scooter, can you please return it?

Can I remind all parents that the children lock their bikes, scooters etc up if they are leaving them in the school yard as we can take no responsibility if items go missing. I realise these items are expensive, so let’s make sure we keep them secure!

Dropping Off

In the mornings can we ask that you drop the children off at the school gate and if you need to speak to teachers, please do so at home time. If you wish to leave a message for teachers regarding your child, we will deliver the message as there will always be someone at the gate to pass the message on. We do not want parents in the school corridors as it is difficult to monitor and it is a safeguarding issue. Many thanks for your assistance in this matter.

Local residents have once again contacted the school to complain that some parents are parking across driveways and obstructing pavements when picking up and dropping off their children for school.  If your car is parked dangerously, not only do you inconvenience our local residents, it puts children and parents walking to school at risk.

School Dinners

Due to our expanding school, we are continuing to have staggered lunchtimes. This proved to be very successful last year and the children and staff are happy with the arrangements. The weekly menu is available on the school website. The option of a halal dinner continues to be available this school year. The cost of a school dinner is £2.20 per day (£11 per week).  A selection of fruit is available at dinner times to encourage healthy eating!

After School Club

Can I remind all parents that they should contact the school office if they wish their children to attend the club. Prices remain the same as last year and we hope you take advantage of this extra service.

Your child’s belongings

Please ensure that your child’s school bag, uniform items, PE kit, water bottle and lunch boxes etc. are labelled with child’s name and class.  Every day there are lost items and this will help us to identify which children items belong to. We place any items we find in the red bins in the corridor, if your child has lost anything, ask them to check these bins first. Thank you for your support.
