School Fayre

HeadteacherComments Off on School Fayre

We have our annual Christmas fayre on Friday 7th December starting straight after school. Please come along to support the school where you will be able to take part in the Tombola stall, face painting, crafts to buy and games to play!

We will also be selling hot food for everyone as the time you spend here will be alleviated with the fact that you won’t have to cook dinner when you get home!

Many thanks for your support in advance as I know from previous experience, you always support the school. All monies raised at this event goes directly back on funding for the children.

This Friday 23rd November, school will be closed to the children as we have a teacher training day. This means we will close to the children today and be back open on Monday 26th November.

A reminder to all our parents to sign up for the eduly app where all parents can receive direct information about their child’s progress. If you haven’t downloaded the app please do so with the school code to log on being 97755173.

Early Years Open Morning

On Wednesday 28th November 9.30 – 11.30 for children aged 2 – 5, we will be holding an open morning for parents. This is to showcase the provision we offer, so if you know of any parents in the area who have children coming up to school age please let them know about it for us.

Silver Award for UNICEF Rights Respecting School

I am delighted to say that last week we were visited by UNICEF to see how we have progressed with our Rights Respecting Charter that we carry out in Rack House. The school, led by Mrs Nilan and Mr Corbett received the prestigious silver award from UNICEF. Well done to our children, parents and staff for working together to achieve such an excellent honour!

Own Clothes Day

We are running an own clothes day next Friday, 30th November to ask for prizes for our Tombola and sweets stalls. The idea is that the children can come to school in their own clothes if you send a little prize in that can be won on our Tombola stall. Alternatively you can send in a £1.00 donation to the fundraising. Many thanks for your support.

Dropping Off

In the mornings can we ask that you drop the children off at the school gate and if you need to speak to teachers, please do so at home time. If you wish to leave a message for teachers regarding your child, we will deliver the message as there will always be someone at the gate to pass the message on. We do not want parents in the school corridors as it is difficult to monitor and it is a safeguarding issue. Many thanks for your assistance in this matter.

Nursery and Reception

Nursery and reception would like to thank all parents for being so generous in giving old clothes, underwear, socks etc. I have been asked to ask parents if they have any children’s socks or underwear, please keep giving to the Nursery. We now have enough of the other clothing. Many thanks for your support and generosity.

After School Club

Can I remind all parents that they should contact the school office if they wish their children to attend the club. Prices remain the same as last year and we hope you take advantage of this extra service.

School Dinners

Due to our expanding school, we are continuing to have staggered lunchtimes. This proved to be very successful last year and the children and staff are happy with the arrangements. The weekly menu is available on the school website. The option of a halal dinner continues to be available this school year. The cost of a school dinner is £2.20 per day (£11 per week).  A selection of fruit is available at dinner times to encourage healthy eating!

Your child’s belongings

Please ensure that your child’s school bag, uniform items, PE kit, water bottle and lunch boxes etc. are labelled with child’s name and class.  Every day there are lost items and this will help us to identify which children items belong to. We place any items we find in the red bins in the corridor, if your child has lost anything, ask them to check these bins first. Thank you for your support.

Parent Governors

We currently have two parent governors whose terms of office have ended.  They are willing to stand again but, if any one would like to become a parent Governor please inform the school office of your interest.
