A gentle reminder that we are part of the Healthy School programme and we provide healthy lunches in school and we ask that if you provide a packed lunch, so please provide a healthy one. Also, we have a person who has a peanut allergy so please do not send nuts into school. The nuts have the potential to be life threatening and we do not want any person having to attend hospital. I would like to thank you in advance for your assistance.
Macmillan Coffee Morning/ Race
We will have our annual Macmillan Coffee morning on Friday 28th September, where parents are invited to buy coffee and cakes in support of The Macmillan Foundation. Any unsold items will be offered for sale to the children so that they can have a chance to participate in the event. The Coffee Morning will start around 9.30am, straight after KS 1 assembly.
If you would like to donate cakes for the event please hand them in at the school office. Thank you.
The children, in the afternoon, will be asked to take part in a run for The Macmillan Fund where children will be asked to donate £1.00 to take part in it. Children will run with some staff and it will help burn off the cakes from earlier in the day! All monies raised will go to the MacMillan Fund as most people now know someone affected by cancer.
We have our first Parent’s Evenings on Wednesday 17th October, so please keep this date in your diary. We are extending the time slots from 3.30pm -7pm on one night to ensure all parents can attend. It is important to keep dialogue between yourself and your child’s teacher so we can work together in partnership.
In the mornings can we ask that you drop the children off at the school gate and if you need to speak to teachers, please do so at home time. If you wish to leave a message for teachers regarding your child, we will deliver the message as there will always be someone at the gate to pass the message on. We do not want parents in the school corridors as it is difficult to monitor and it is a safeguarding issue. Many thanks for your assistance in this matter.
Nursery and Reception
Nursery and reception would appreciate any old clothes, underwear, socks etc as they are always needed for changes of clothing, mainly for the children! If you have any children’s clothing (including footwear), please send them in.
After School Club
Can I remind all parents that they should contact the school office if they wish their children to attend the club. Prices remain the same as last year and we hope you take advantage of this extra service.
Due to our expanding school, we are continuing to have staggered lunchtimes. This proved to be very successful last year and the children and staff are happy with the arrangements. The weekly menu is available on the school website. The option of a halal dinner continues to be available this school year. The cost of a school dinner is £2.20 per day (£11 per week). A selection of fruit is available at dinner times to encourage healthy eating!
On the school calendar sent out, it states school closes on July 29th, this is incorrect. School closes on July 19th 2019 for the summer!
Your child’s belongings
Please ensure that your child’s school bag, uniform items, PE kit, water bottle and lunch boxes etc. are labelled with child’s name and class. Every day there are lost items and this will help us to identify which children items belong to. We place any items we find in the red bins in the corridor, if your child has lost anything, ask them to check these bins first. Thank you for your support.
