Dear parents as we get to know more information from the government, I am able to pass on that detail to you. I have also spoken to our LA and other Headteachers in Wythenshawe about how we are moving forward.
If your child is in either Nursery, Reception, Year 1 or year 6 you will have been given drop off times and pick up times for your children. Only ONE parent will be able to do this to reduce numbers. No parents will be allowed in school.
If you are a key worker or your child is considered vulnerable, you will have a choice. Your child can go for half a day with their class, but they will not be able to mix into another group. If you wish your child to be in all day, Monday to Thursday, they will have to remain in their key worker groups and will not be able to attend year groups. The guidance on this is becoming clearer as we are NOT able to mix any child into different groups. There will be no breakfast or after school clubs in place at this time due to restrictions in mixing groups.
I realise that we have been off for over half a term and this is a long time in our children’s lives. All measures set out are made to ensure the safety of children, staff and families. For this reason, if any child does not adhere to the behavior policy of the school, I will have no choice but to ask them not to re-attend school at this time. I will not have the safety of all put at risk by any individual ignoring the rules set in place.
It is vitally important that one parent drops off and picks up their child at the correct time. If you are going to be late, it may be best not to attend school for that day. These times are set to ensure minimum contact for all.
I hope you understand why we are asking for all to follow the guidelines we have set out and we look forward to welcoming back the children who have not been able to attend school for the last two months. If all goes well, I will be hoping to welcome back more year groups into school.
Have a good half term and we look forward to re-opening for all Reception and Year 6 children on Tuesday June 9th. Year 1 on Thursday June 11th. Nursery on Monday June 15th.
All children will have been given a morning or afternoon class time. If you are unsure of this, please contact school as children will only be allowed in school at these times to ensure we have correct numbers in classes.
