Another year has flown by and we are set to say goodbye to our fabulous Year 6 children as they enter their next stage of education and life! Our year 6 children have been busy this year, attending a residential in Anglesey in March, a trip to Manchester University, and not forgetting Alton Towers!
As our Year 6 children leave, we welcome new children into Rack House from our new two year old provision and also into our Reception classes. Our year 2 children will make the transition into key Stage 2 and our current Year 5’s become the oldest in the school!
It is always great to celebrate another year with academic results in Reception, Years 2 and Years 6 showing that the school children receive an excellent education. The children also receive an all-rounded education with them being able to attend numerous trips, including Years 2, 4 & 6 attending Talacre Beach! We have had a ‘Rocket Man’ visit the school where our children learnt how to make a rocket. We had numerous school trips to support our curriculum and numerous visitors to the school to make our curriculum come to life. Our children competed in numerous sporting events and many thanks to Mrs Nilan and Tom for organising these extra-curricular activities.
At this stage I must mention that this year our children entered a garden into the Royal Horticultural Show at Tatton Park. This was led by Mrs Scholes and Miss Bott who have helped the children grow the plants, design the garden and plant it at Tatton Park. The children have had a fabulous experience in taking part in this process and we hope to make it an annual event. We have had great assistance from the staff at Wythenshawe Park who helped us pick suitable flowers, nurtured them and assisted in the safekeeping of all our plants! We have had donations from Tesco, Selco, B&M and Lidl. These shops donated various items and without these items we would not have been able to produce such a fantastic experience for the children. Many thanks to our local retailers and Park!
We will return to school On Tuesday 3rd September where children will be met in the school playground by their new teachers and walked to their classes on this first day.
Have a great Summer Holiday and please stay safe. We look forward to working together in the next academic year.
