Once again it is that time of year when schools results for EYFS, Year 1, KS1 and KS2 are collated by the government.
In EYFS the school achieved 71% GLD with 16% exceeding. These are the school’s highest results and show what a fantastic start our children get in school.
In Year 1 86% of our children achieved the pass rate which is above the national average figure.
In Year 2 the results were as follows;
|School % 2018||2018 National Average %|
|Reading||74% (20% GD)||62% (13% GD)||76% (26% GD)
|Writing||72% (17% GD)||62% (12% GD)||70% (16% GD)
|Maths||76% (22% GD)||63% (18% GD)||76% (22% GD)
|Combined RWM ARE||69%||53% (10% GD)||65%
|Combined RWM GD||15%||10%||12%|
Again, these are the best results the school has achieved and show all the hard work children and staff are placing in their studies.
At KS 2 the results were as follows;
These represent fantastic figures which show all the fantastic work being carried out at the school. The figures in KS2, which are tested independently, are fantastic and a reflection of the efforts and abilities of our children. They show that the school is moving forward for the benefit of all our children
Tatton Flower Show;
Our gardening club are taking part in the Tatton Flower show which is open to the public from Wednesday 17th July to Sunday 21st July. Our children, under the guidance of Miss Bott and Mrs Scholes, have grown all their plants with the help of the gardeners and greenhouses at Wythenshawe Park. We are currently putting the final touches to our garden in the show and we are delighted with all the efforts the children and staff have made.
Please visit the show if you can and see our children’s work. We all have different skills and show creativity in differing ways. At Rack House we like to promote this for all our children.
Thalia and Melpo’s Night at the Musicals
Our children once again produced fantastic performances for the school and parents this week on Wednesday and Thursday. Our Year 6 children again took the lead, supported by the rest of KS2. The children were all superb and it was like being in the West End! Well done to all our performers and helpers.
Performances like this have to be thoroughly organised and I would like to thank Mrs Power, Miss O’Connor, Miss Walsh, Mr Martin, Mr Corbett, Miss McClendon, Mr Koralambe, Mrs Baird, Mrs Anstee, Miss Bonney, Mrs Jarvis, Mr Butler and Mrs Morgan for giving up all their spare time over the last 6 weeks to ensure this production was as good as it was. I would also like to thank Mr Power for organising, erecting and controlling the lighting and sound, Mr Smith who once again stepped in to control the lighting and sound for the afternoon performances and organised the filming of the show.
Steel Pans Showcase at the Royal Northern College of Music
On Tuesday we had an amazing evening at the Royal Northern College of Music Our KS2 Steel Pan band gave a fantastic performance along with other bands from across the city. We closed the show and had the audience dancing in their seats. Well done to all the children who took part – you were fabulous!
MHA FA Cup
Last Friday both our girls and boys teams played in the MHA cluster primary schools FA Cup. Our girls did really well in competing through the rounds and represented Rack House fabulously. The boys ‘A’ team managed to get to the final and win the competition. I would like to say well done to all our children for taking part and it is always great to win! Well done one and all.
International Schools Award
We are delighted to announce that our school has been awarded full accreditation of the International Schools Award. This recognises the effort and hard work that the children have put into learning about different cultures, and sharing this with our partner school in Spain. Check out the school blog for all our Global Curriculum work that has been carried out this academic year.
A huge thank you to all our children and parents who supported our Summer Fayre.
Through your donations, gifts and spending, we managed to raise £536 on the evening. This is a wonderful amount and all monies raised go back directly to benefit our children. Thanks once again for your support.
Attendance, Sports Awards and Living Streets Assembly
Next Thursday in the afternoon will be our celebration assembly for attendance, sports awards and living streets for the children. Due to the numbers in the school we will not be able to invite parents to this as we simply do not have a hall large enough! We are looking to change this in 2020, but for now, please accept my apologies!
Own Clothes Day
Next Friday, 19th July will be our final day in school and we will be celebrating this with own clothes day. We ask for a donation of £1.00 per child up to a maximum of £2.00 per family. All donations go directly back to the children!
Year 6 Leavers Assembly
On Friday 19th July, our Year 6 leavers assembly and graduation will be held in the hall at 9.30 am and all parents of Year 6 children are invited. This is always a fabulous occasion and after the assembly, the children will go on their final school trip to celebrate all their hard work.
After School Club
The after school club will close on Thursday 18th July and will not be open on the last day. I hope you can make alternative arrangements for this last day.
