Our Christmas Fayre will be held tomorrow, Friday 1st December from 3.15pm until 5pm where all the year groups will have stalls. There will be hot food to buy in the evening so you don’t have to cook something for the family when you leave!
Our Rack House runners achieved well in the Wythenshawe Park Cross Country runs with a second and third place being achieved by Harvey and Louis Doran. This is a fantastic achievement by our children and shows how to stay healthy and have fun too!
On Tuesday evening Rack House took place in an athletics competition held at St Paul’s and Rack House children easily won the track events. Well done children!
Due to the school setting up for The Christmas Fayre tomorrow afternoon we will holding both KS1 and KS2 assemblies in the morning at 9.10am. The KS1 assembly will be in the alternative hall with KS2 being in the usual hall.
Year 4 Assembly
Today was St Andrew’s Day and this was celebrated by Year 4 (MO) class who informed the school why St Andrew’s Day is celebrated, especially by our Scottish neighbours. It was fantastic to see Year 4 be so confident in their delivery. Well done Year 4!
Years 1-4 Pantomime Trip
All our children in years 1-4 will have the chance to see a pantomime on the afternoon of Friday 8th December at Wythenshawe Forum. This trip will be free of charge but the children will return to school at 3.30pm on this day. The pantomime is ‘Santa’s Magic workshop’.
Christmas Jumper Day
On Friday 15th December, children may wear their own clothes to school including a Christmas Jumper. These may be store bought, or better yet, uniquely created by the children at home!
Parking in the area
I place this on the newsletter every week, however we really must start to think of our local community. Local residents have once again contacted the school to complain that some parents are parking across driveways and blocking residents in when picking up and dropping off their children for school. If vehicles are parked dangerously, not only is it inconvenient for residents, it also puts our children and parents walking to school at risk.
Police will be patrolling the area as residents have made official complaints to the school and local police. Can we please be mindful that we are all entitled to get in and out of our driveways freely so please respect our neighbours to encourage goodwill within our community.
Also, I do not wish any person to be injured because a child or adult cannot be seen by other road users due to inconsiderate parking. Walking to and away from school is much healthier for the children and would solve these problems.
School Nativity Play
Rehearsals will begin to start soon for the KS1 and EYFS School Nativity Play. A reminder for all parents that the performances will take place at 9.30am on Wednesday 13th December and 6pm on Thursday 14th December. More information about tickets will come later, however please ensure you have these dates booked in your diary.
After School Care Club
Can I remind all parents that they should contact the school office if they wish their children to attend the After School Care Club: cost, £8 per session. We invite you to take advantage of this service.
Your child’s belongings
Please ensure that your child’s school bag, uniform items, PE kit, water bottle and lunch boxes etc. are clearly labelled with your child’s name and class. There are lost items collected from around school every day and this will help us to identify which children items belong to. Lost property is placed in respective red bins along the corridors of KS1 and KS2 each half term and items will be donated to charity if uncollected. Thank you for your support.
School Photos have been sent home today with your child. Please contact the office if you have any queries regarding photos.
