End of half term

17-18: HeadteacherComments Off on End of half term

I can’t believe that this is the final day of our first half term but the children are ready for a well-earned break! A simple reminder that we will re-open school on Monday 30th October and I hope you have a relaxing and happy holiday.

Parents Evenings

It was lovely to see so many parents taking the opportunity to meet the teachers and discuss their child’s progress since September. If you could not make any of the dates please contact school and we will make sure that you are given the opportunity to speak to the teacher after the break.

Our Year 6 Parents Evenings, which had to be delayed, will take place in the week commencing 6th November. Exact dates and times will be given as soon as we return from the break.

As we come to the end of the first half term we are celebrating the attendance of our children. Anyone who has been in school for a full week has received a raffle ticket. If the children have had 100% attendance for the half term they will have received 7 tickets and more chances to win a £10 gift voucher for WH Smith. We have drawn one person from each class today to receive their vouchers and the winners will be published via our blogs.  Any child who has 98% attendance or more this half term will be able to watch a video and celebrate with treats in our first week back.

We will be having a similar draw on the last week of school in December to encourage attendance!

Farewell to Jason

After 15 years of working at Rack House, Jason O’Neil has left us to carry on his coaching career. He made a very positive contribution to the school, working in tandem with Mrs Nilan to ensure that all the children achieved their optimum in sports. I would like to thank Jason for all his work and wish him well for the future, knowing that he will help us out in the future whenever he can.

As we say farewell to Jason, we welcome Tom Bainbridge who has worked in school on a Tuesdays for the past 3 years and who will now increase his commitment to ensure we continue the great sport.

School Halloween Disco

We are having a Halloween school disco tonight for the children. The cost of entry is £1.00 per child up to £2.00 per family. Can I ask that parents pick up their children promptly at 6.30 pm.

No Dogs Allowed!

Can I remind all parents that no dogs are allowed on school premises. This is to ensure that no incidents occur where dogs may get excited! If you are dropping off or picking up your child, please leave your dog at home or off the school premises whilst doing so.

Nursery and Reception

Nursery and reception would appreciate any old clothes, underwear, socks etc as they are always need for changes of clothing, mainly for the children! If you have any children’s clothing (including footwear), please send them in.

After School Club

Can I remind all parents that they should contact the school office if they wish their children to attend the club.  Prices are £8 per session. We invite you to take advantage of this extra service.

Your child’s belongings

Please ensure that your child’s school bag, uniform items, PE kit, water bottle and lunch boxes etc. are labelled with child’s name and class.  Every day there are lost items and this will help us to identify which children items belong to. Thank you for your support.

Parking in the area

Local residents have contacted the school to complain that some parents are parking across driveways and blocking residents in when picking up and dropping off their children for school. Police will be patrolling the area as residents have made official complaints. Can we please be mindful that we are all entitled to get in and out of our driveways freely so please respect our neighbours to encourage peace within our community.
