The Final Half Term!

16-17: HeadteacherComments Off on The Final Half Term!

This school year is flying by and we are now in our final half term of the school year! This will be the final few weeks for our year 6 children and I know that they are getting ready for high school with numerous transition days.

We will have our own transition day for our children on Friday 14th July where our children will get to meet their new teachers and visit their new classes ready for September!

As a school we had some training midweek and were told that any 02 shop will assist parents in ensuring that settings are controlled for their children’s phones. This is free of charge and you do not have to be a customer of 02! In this day and age where everything seems to be freely available on the internet, this must be a good thing.

Here are some important dates for the final half term;

12th              Phonic Screening Tests week

14th              Sports Day KS2 9.30am, KS1.30pm

21st              Summer Solstice Assembly @ 2:40 p.m. (Year 5 TF)

22nd             Reserve Sports Day KS2 9.30am, KS1.30 pm

30th              Summer Fayre 2pm – 5pm

5th & 6th        Lion King Performance

7th                World Culture Day – Pakistan

19th                      School Closes. Year 6 Leavers Performance & Assembly

Thank you all for your support this year. Your children have all settled well and are getting off to a great start at Rack House.

With only a short time to go before we finish for the summer, I would like to remind you all that you are still welcome to come into the nursery with your child at the beginning of the day to complete the morning activity, and converse with staff.

The nursery door opens at 8.45 am and, officially, school starts at 9am.

Ideally, 9am is when parents should leave their children – unless a child is particularly unsettled.  The doors MUST be closed by 9.15 am for safeguarding reasons, therefore punctuality is of the upmost importance.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Miss Williams Year 4 Assembly

Miss Williams’ Class – Year 4 had their assembly to celebrate the Queen’s official birthday today and the children were fabulous in their delivery. It was great to see the parental support.

Holiday Club!

If you are interested in the school hosting a holiday club for the first two weeks of the summer holidays (Monday 24th July to Friday 4th August 2017). Please let the office staff know.  The club would run from 8.00 a.m. to 5.45 p.m. each week day.  Children will need to bring a packed lunch.  The cost would be £25 per day. This will only be on offer to children who attend Rack House Primary School.
